In early January I had a Tri-Pi (only the best made up fraternity at the University of Hartford) reunion at the new house. Obviously a trip to the New England Aquarium was in order. It was pretty difficult getting pictures of anything in a tank, due to the distortions of the glass and the reflection. I took about a million pictures anyways, especially of the penguins. I was tempted to put in a lot more penguin pictures than I did, hopefully no one is too disappointed with only a couple penguin shots :-)

JELLY FISH
|
f/1.8, 1/13th, ISO-1600, +1 exposure, 50mm
My camera had a hard time getting focus on the jelly fish, with their amorphous shape. Sometimes I had to manually focus to get the shot, and other times I stood back a little farther from the glass. |

TURTLES

We spent a long time looking for this guy in the tank.
I love how he's framed by the window.

OTHER FISH

There were so many brightly colored beauties...unfortunately they moved around too quickly to catch except for the occasional lucky shot. |

I touched this dude. |

Such murkiness, but it's still a calm looking scene. |

Seahorses are my absolute favorite. I love how he's suspended in midair. |
Definitely a wonderful trip. Wish I could have shown more of the amazing colors - there were some neon fish that were almost glowing!
Some Quincy beach shots coming up soon :-)
