'Tis the Season

Merry (almost) Christmas! In light of the fact that tomorrow is Christmas Eve, I figured it was the perfect opportunity for some holiday shots. (Yes, I said "holiday" instead of "Christmas" cause obviously I'm a Grinch).

First up: Some cat shots (SHOCKER) I did for our Christmas card. I had planned to do a cat montage but ended up with one shot that had both them in it, and after what felt like a really long time trying to get them both looking at the camera, in focus, with some holiday memorabilia in the frame, I gave in at the first decent shot. Next year we have big plans for the holiday card :-)

Ender is infinitely easier to pose.

I only have tiny trees.

This was the problem I kept having - in focus tree, out of focus Teeny. She was being very vocal since we were teasing them with treats to get them to look where we wanted! But you can just pretend she's caroling or something.

The photo from our holiday card, which unfortunately turned out really dark when they printed them :-/
And now some general Christmas fun:

Gray walls and radiators make great backdrops.

We have letter ornaments for each of our names.

I have a lot of owls on my tree.
Added to the exposure so the lights would be more twinkly

f/1.8, 1/30th, +1 exposure, ISO-800, 50mm
f/4, 1/125th, +1.3 exposure, ISO-1600, 24mm
I love the colors, I put back on "pop a color" for these shots.
f/1.8, 1/40th, +1.3 exposure, ISO-1600, 50mm
ENDER IS EVERYWHERE. And Owls.
Framing could be a lot better on this one.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas/Hannukah/Festivus/Winter Solstice :-) I will be back in the new year!
