365 Photo Project

My 365 Photo Project is officially DONE! I started it on J's birthday last year so as of his birthday this year, I no longer "have" to take a picture every single day. (Breathes sigh of relief).
I actually did love doing it, although there were days where it was a bit of a stretch (or where I forgot my camera or couldn't bring it somewhere, or where I wished that taking pictures on my phone had counted that day).

I'm going to take a breather from the every day stuff for awhile, although I hope to start something similar again at the start of 2015 - especially since now I feel like I don't take enough photos or try new things. For now, I've compiled my year's favorites (many of which made it in on the monthly posts).

JUNE 2013
f/5.6, 1/1250th, ISO-1600, 35mm
What I would change: I didn't need the ISO set to 1600, it was outdoors and well lit. Also, had I had my 50mm lens, I could have used a lower f-stop for better effect.

f/5.6, 1/800th, ISO-100, 26mm
What I would change: While I am always a big fan of BLUES, there's probably a little too much and this could've been cropped a bit. Otherwise, I stand by it because it's one of my all-time favorite shots!
 JULY 2013
f/4, 1/500th, ISO-400, 22mm
Overall, July was a pretty bleak month for me, photos wise.
What I would change: this photo could be brighter (both ISO wise and color wise) and the angle could have been more interesting than what I chose at the time.

AUGUST 2013
f/5.6, 1/13th, ISO-1600, +3 exposure, 55mm
I turned things around a LOT in August. More interesting trips and more interesting shots!
What I would change: This is another all-time favorite shot. By using a lower f stop and higher ISO, I was able to capture this moment in action. I don't think I would change anything!

f/8, 1/200th, ISO-100, 28mm
Another "iconic" Michelle shot.
Seriously, this is hanging up on the staircase wall. No Changes.

f/5.6, 1/100th, ISO-100, 40mm
What I would change: I'd find a way to stay here a lot longer than we did!
Seriously though, I wouldn't have changed much in terms of taking the shot, but had I had more editing abilities, I might have played around more with the colors and contrast.
 SEPTEMBER 2013
f/4, 1/1250th, ISO-800, 30mm
Both this and the next were taken in beautiful NH.
What I would change: While I love the angle, there's not much interesting happening in the bottom of the picture, This could've been cropped better.

f/3.2, 1/4000th,  ISO-100, -3 exposure, 50mm
We're starting to get into my 50mm phase!
What I would change: I love the action in this shot but I wider angle would have been better.
 OCTOBER 2013
f/1.8, 1/2500th, ISO-400, 50mm
Ryan did all the work for me on this one. That said, what I would change: I'm on the fence on whether it would look better or worse with less happening to the left.
 NOVEMBER 2013
5/1.8, 1/13th, ISO-800, 50mm
What I would change: this photo is too dark, the white balance off, and the colors I like not vibrant enough. Still, the bikes themselves were interesting subject matter and I enjoy the different angles.

f/1.8, 1/125th, ISO-100, 50mm
Taken post-move, this demonstrates the better lighting situation I have now for indoor shots.
What I would change: More Ender face!
 DECEMBER 2013
f/4, 1/50th, ISO-1600, +3 exposure, 28mm
Speak of the devil!
What I would change: I'd make the background shapes/colors more intentional.
f/1.8, 1/200th, ISO-400, +0.3 exposure, 50mm
What I would change: Perhaps had something more interesting in the foreground? I do enjoy the tiny J in the background.

f/3.2, 1/60th, ISO-1600, +1/3 exposure, 50mm
What I would change: less exposure (or more editing afterwards) to make their faces less blown out. I actually like that Ryan isn't in focus so I wouldn't change that!
 JANUARY 2014
f/22, 1/1250th, ISO-3200, 18mm
What I would change: I wish it weren't quite so blue!

f/1.8, 1/2500th, ISO-6400, 50mm
What I would change: I'd crop in a bit more on the turtle but I'd leave the framing of the window, however. I might also change nothing. I think it's pretty cool.
FEBRUARY 2014
f/3.5, 1/4000th, ISO-200, 18mm
This and the next are two more all-time favorite, so no changes! February was a good photo month.

f/5, 1/250th, ISO-100, 70mm
 MARCH 2014
f/1.8, 1/250th, ISO-1600, 50mm
What I would change: I only wish the out of focus portions were a little more exposed. But even still, love this shot a lot.
 APRIL 2014
f/4.5, 1/1000th, ISO-400, 24mm
What I would change: While not winning any awards, I'm still pretty happy with this and wouldn't change anything.
 MAY 2014
f/3.5, 1/1600th, ISO-100, 18mm
My final full month was an amazing one.In fact, there's really nothing I'd change about any!

f/1.8, 1/80th, ISO-800, +1.3 exposure, 50mm
Another favorite of mine, and I'm normally not impressed with my people shots!

f/1.8, 1/1600th, ISO-200, 50mm

f/3.5, 1/80th, ISO-800, 50mm
This isn't the best of the Emily shots I took on her wedding day, but it's the one I had chosen as a photo of the day and I do love the emotion in her eyes.
